Experience Korea through K-Pop
It’s
been a long time since K-pop has been around, and the continual growth of the
K-pop community over the past few years has been nothing short of remarkable.
Their international reach is stronger than ever, and the music is creating not
the metaphorical ripples in the global music taste but unimaginably loud bangs.
Whether you have been a hardcore fan for years or just jumped into the
bandwagon recently, here are the few very best K-pop bands anyone can enjoy
listening to. Experience raunchiness, explosive glamour and skip-beat music. Experience Korea.
1. BTS
It’s
not possible to say K-pop and finish the sentence without mentioning BTS in the
same breath. BTS is arguably THE most popular K-pop group around the globe, and
not without reason. They have reached #1 on iTunes in over 65 countries, have
held first place on Billboard’s Social 50 chart for 114 weeks in a row, and
they just embarked on their first U.S. stadium tour in May. The group mixes hip-hop, pop, some EDM and
rap into their body of work with their three rappers (RM, Suga, and J-hope) and
four singers (Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook). Just watch one video of theirs to
understand how they became such a global phenomenon.
2. Blackpink
If
there is one K-pop band you just can’t resist to dance to, it has to be
Blackpink. Jennie Kim, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé bring stardust into their music
with every syllable and once they have made it into your life, you will find
them impossible to let go. Considered one of this generation’s most popular
K-pop acts, every song Blackpink has released went on to be a massive hit.
Experience Korea and its very best all-girl K-pop band, and do try to resist
the urge to learn Blackpink’s amazing choreography. I dare you.
3. Monsta X
K-pop’s
bad boys definitely deserve a spot on your playlist. Topping multiple music
charts and breaking hearts all over the place, you'll understand Monsta X's
popularity the minute you hit play. Bringing some hip-hop, EDM , and pop to the
plate, every Monsta X song is a universe you’ll want to immerse yourself in.
Layers and layers of fierce vocals meet a vehement rap line in each of their
songs, and there is nothing worth watching more live.
4.
Chung Ha
K-pop isn’t just about the groups.
There are some soloists leaving a mark in the K-pop world. In the case of Chung
Ha, its not so much a mark as it is a crater-like dent. Originally part of a 10
girl group, I.O.I, after its disbandment, Chung Ha decided to pave her way on a
solo path and the rest is history. If you don’t like absolutely vibrant vocals
and music you can break a leg to, not to mention her amazing dance sets, well
what do you know, she is too good for you.
5.
Girls’ Generation
Ever wondered what K-pop classics
are? Girls’ Generation is what you are looking for. Every K-pop groupie around
the world have been touched by these amazing nine girls, catching the eye with
their signature youthful soul, vibrant and fun songs and videos. In many ways,
its credit to Girls’ Generation that K-pop is even a global phenomenon now and
fans still shed a tear having heard their electro-bubblegum sound mature with
time and the girls turn to women right in front of their eyes. While they may
not be performing together any longer, they have made a home in our hearts,
probably for life.
There are countless more K-pop
bands, coming up with their unique music, sweeping us off our feet with the
glitter, gloss and glamour that is K-pop. What are some of your favorite ones
we might have missed to mention? Let us know, in the comments hit. Experience Korea with XcelTrip and make memories that last a
